Polish-Israeli comics album available in bookstores

Some leading lights of the Israeli and Polish graphic art world collaborated to produce a comic album with original stories and drawings. Contributors include: Zeev Engelmayer, Amitai Sandy and Daniel Goldstein from Israel and Krzysztof Ostrowski, Michał ‘Śledziu’ Śledziński and Joanna Karpowicz from Poland.

Video by Katarzyn Kozyra at the exhibition 'Wild Exaggeration'

The group show “Wild Exaggeration. The Grotesque Body in Contemporary Art” focuses on the theme of the grotesque in contemporary art. The featured works include two video pieces by Katarzyna Kozyra in which the artist appears as Lou Salome – in the gardens of the Vienna Schwarzenberg Palace – training two actors dressed as dogs, in masks that are strikingly similar to Nietzsche and Rilke.

Following the March premiere of the “Absinth” by Magda Fertacz, another Polish drama entered the repertoire of the Tmuna Theatre in Tel Aviv. The theatre hall was filled to capacity on 28th and 29th of August, during the premiere of Michał Walczak’s “Journey to the Inside of the Room”, directed by Wojciech Klemm. The performance featuring young Israeli actors, scheduled for November and December, is the last theatre event organized as a part of the Polish Year in Israel.

The play “Absinth”, based on a drama by Magdalena Fertacz, was presented in Israel on several occasions. “Absinth” returns this season to the stage of the Tmuna Theatre. The play had its premiere in December 2008 during the festival of Polish Drama in Tel Aviv. The drama was first presented at a directed reading session and met with such an enthusiastic response from the audience that, encouraged by the success, the director Maor Zagouri and a group of young actors decided to prepare a fully-fledged performance.

Noam Rotem recording the song 'Nasza klasa' in Hebrew

An Israeli songwriter inspired by the Jacek Kaczmarski's songs, is now working on the Hebrew recording of the song  "Nasza klasa" ["Our Class"]. The record will be realesed in autumn in the non-commercial Polish and Israeli markets. Soon it will be played by the Israeli radio stations. The project also includes the cartoon video clip to the song.

Mitch & Mitch with Igor Krutogolov - CD to be released soon

After the concerts performed with Kruzenshtern i Parohod in front of very appreciative Israeli public (December 2008), Mitch & Mitch continues its exciting experience in Israel working hard on releasing a new record with Igor Krutogolov.  The cd will include songs written by the cult American bard of Jewish origin Zelig Rabitchnyak who played an original mutation of blue grass and klezmer music which he himself called jewgrass. After the premiere of the album, in December 2009, the artists will play a concert in Poland.
